Thomas can't sleep

Posted by Thomas can't sleep on July 11, 2002 at 12:07:06:

Since my son was born he has had night terrors. My birth was normal but in the hospital they thought he might die because his blood wasn't clotting. They told me to expect the worse because he may just bleed till he died for a needle which they poked into him to begin with. He went through a lot of testing and turned out okay. Except when I can finally get him to sleep, every night he has wild nightmares. His screaming can be heard by the neighbors. He thrashes around the bed. The only way to calm him for a few seconds is to talk him down. He settles in for a little while but shortly after that it begins all over again. My youngest son seems to have the same problem (Thomas is 3, my youngest is 2). I have to bring both boys in my room at night and hold each (one on each side) to calm them. Thomas has been extremely violent in these "dreams" but has not been surrounded by violence. I am not quite sure I understand what is going on but I cannot sleep nor can the kids. Can anyone help me?
