night terrors starting again....(monica???)

Posted by worriedsickmom (kris) on August 09, 2002 at 04:58:24:

Good morning.... Monica, if you're out there, can you offer an opinion please??

My son had the T & A done last July with wonderful results. No more mouth breathing and no more night terrors! Sadly, 4 out of the last 5 nights, the terrors are back. WHY? He has had chronic sinus infections and has been treated for those since last NOVEMBER! CT scan after CT scan keeps showing some infection, even after antibiotic treatment. ENT felt he had reflux, so on reflux meds. Taking him for allergy shots (mites and cats). Also on nasal spray at night. The allergist is wanting to do those immunodeficiency tests, but we haven't had those done yet. The ENT believes the reflux is causing the chronic sinus troubles.

We go for another CT scan on Monday and another ENT appt on Thurs. I'm ready to call the sleep doc and request another sleep study... I just don't understand why the terrors are starting again after being terror free for almost 1 year?!?

Any ideas? Suggestions??

Thanks... just so worried and sad that these terrors are starting up again.

Kris
