my 3yr old wakes up 3 or 4 times a night

For the last 2 months or so my daughter who is 3, wakes up 3 or 4 times a night and im exhausted. She will come out of her bedroom and either sit outside my bedroom door or run around in the hallway. She never kicks up a fuss when we put her back in to her bed. Can someone tell me is this just a phase? It's driving me crazy as she is irritable and ratty all day and so am i through lack of sleep. Can anyone give me someone advice on how to stop this. Thankyou.
