Perhaps you could have him sleep in his own bed, and move it away, a little bit at a time. Give him a dreamcatcher to catch bad dreams, and a guardian animal. Do you have a dog? Maybe sleeping with a pet would ease the transition.

I'm sorry if this all sounds lame, and hope it helps if only a little.
