10 month old screaming at night

Posted by sammom on August 30, 2002 at 10:58:22:

I have a 10 month old son who has never been a good sleeper. For the first 4 months of his life we were lucky if he slept a total of 6 hours a day. As a newborn he would scream when he was held and prefered to be left on the ground. Now he is extremely sensitive to touch and sounds. He has an allergy to dog saliva and possibly a milk allergy. He has exzema that flares up from time to time which we can not determine the cause of (other allergies?) In the last 6 months he has begun to sleep more but will wake almost every night between 3:00 and 4:30 screaming. About 75% of those times he is not consolable. We let him cry for up to 1 hour and then pick him up which usually doesn't work. He will not allow you to rock him or feed him during this time. He usually cries for at least 1 hour before he is able to go back to sleep. Does anyone out there have any suggestions or has had a similar experience?
