As I asked last time, WHAT DID THE DOCTOR SAY? This seems like unusual behaviour for an infant, at least so that I would want a doctor's review to assess if there is possibly contributing causes. Reflux, terrors, sleep apnea, allergies, well..I can think of a whole bunch of things that could contribute to his difficulties sleeping, which ultimately sabotages him learning to sleep - a very important skill - as well as impacting on his daily functioning (if he's not getting appropriate rest).
Why did he sleep at your sisters? was it cooler (my son would scream if he was too hot in bed. I just left him sleeping in diaper and he was great)? warmer? isolated? people around? or just too exhausted to keep eyes open? background noise? if you feel that any change from her place to yours may have helped, see if it helps at home. Eg, if there was music playing and you think the noise helped, try static or white noise. It's quite soothing and muffles more disruptive sounds elsewhere.
Make an appointment with his doctor. Until the appt, keep a diligent LOG book on: foods, drink, times, sleep, moods, wakings, etc. This is to look for associations and to have an accurate picture of what his routine really is, how much sleep he truly gets. Explain your concerns to the doctor, if you feel there is truly something wrong, ask for appropriate tests. At the very least, his doctor should be able to suggest strategies or refer you to resources to help him sleep.
Depending on his age/the situation, he may also prescribe a very short course of melatonin or benedryl to help him drift to sleep for a few nights in a row. This often helps a child settle into a routine or get practice with their sleep skills. (this should only be undertaken under direction from his pediatrician.)
