4 year old w/extreme anxiety

Posted by tired mama on September 05, 2002 at 18:40:15:

Ever since we moved from our two bedroom apartment to our 3 bedroom house, our 4 year old boy has been having severe anxiety at bedtime and throughout the night. He has trouble falling asleep, sometimes coming out of bed and sometimes staying there, and wakes at least once a night. Sometimes he stays in bed crying and doesn't even seem to be awake, and other times he comes into our room telling us about a nightmare. His nightmares usually center around a monster or a person trying to take him away (which he is also scared of during the day). One night he cried, "I just can't take it anymore!" The problem is, I don't think we can either. We have tried everything we can think of, including sleeping with him, but he snores so loudly that we can't be in the same room with him, let alone the same bed. His doctor is unconcerned about his snoring, but I wonder?
