My daughter is three and has night terrors and used to have Obstructive sleep apnea. Until recently she has always slept in my bed, now we have often have little challenges and negotiations in order for me to get her to sleep in her own room, however a few things helped. She had obstructive sleep apnea and had her tonsils and adenoids removed (a god send operation) she no longer wakes her self by snoring, but now has night terrors. So, What I did was let her decorate her own room. She picked out her bedding (so now she doesn't cry until she pukes on it anymore), she put her own pictures on the walls, and even chose the best place for her dollies. This made her have a connection with the room as her own. I also got a fan, and a light which was brighter then a night light, but not as bright as a regular one. The fan provides white noise so that she doesn't hear every bump in the middle of the night and the light allows her to wake up and see clearly rather then be in the dark. I know that each child is different, but if she learned to sleep in your bed she can learn to sleep in her own. It is all about persistance. Best of Luck.
