Our Ten Year Old Awakes Often During Night

Posted by Sleepless In New Jersey on September 25, 2002 at 18:55:16:

Our ten year old son has recently began having problems sleeping at night. He has anxiety thinking about going to bed, as a matter of fact he begins working himself up hours before bedtime. He usually will fall asleep before bedtime, we walk him to his room and put him to bed. He will sleep a few hours, and then awakes, often to pace the hallway, walk around the living room, or if upset enough, come wake us up. We'll put him back to bed, and he'll last a few hours, but then awakes again. We ask him what he is afraid of, but he cannot explain. Any ideas???
