Support needed/9 year old getting CPAP

Posted by Brandons Mom on September 28, 2002 at 21:32:04:

Hi..
My son is 9 years old. He has obstructive sleep apnea, and has had it for a few years. (also has asthma, laryngomalacia, reflux & is mildly overweight) His tonsils/adenoids have been removed (3 years ago)
He has now been approved for a CPAP (maybe a BiPAP?)
I am very concerned about how to get him used to it, getting him to wear it, what kind I should ask for (made for kids) etc...
Is there any SUPPORT groups specifically for parents of kids with sleep apnea? How do I meet other parents whose kids use CPAP?
If your child does, PLEASE give me as MUCH info as you can. THANKS!!!
