3 yr. old- snooring

My 3 yr. old snores terribly- even during naps. We have tried chiropractic care, nose drops, allergy meds. and nothing seems to work. I never thought about the possibility of sleep apnea until reading this site... How serious/common is sleep apnea in children? what can be done to correct it?
