2 yr old with muscle tremors/jerks

Lately as my 2 yr old is falling asleep and for about the first hour or so that he is asleep, i notice he is having these twitches or jerks of his arms and legs. His breathing seems fine and his head never moves but I am worried there is something seriously wrong with him. He has had a persistant runny nose and cough for a few weeks but the doctor said he sees no sign of infection so let the virus run it's coures. I haven't called him about these new twitchesor jerks as these have just started 3 days ago. Pleas help if you can.
