Posted by tired on June 12, 2007 at 18:41:22:Hello, here's my story. I have a 5 year old daughter soon to be 6. Ever since she was 18 months old she's had major sleep issues. The first experience when she was 18 months she was arching back and forth screaming and was basically out of control. She seamed possesed. I was terrified and brought her to Urgent Care at Childrens Hospital. That was the first time I've heard of a night terror. Ever since then she'll get a night terror at least every 6 months and some times more. She also jumps out of bed ALOT and starts to sleep walk. Unfortanitany she sleeps with me so I see her do it. These are things that I've gotten used to and have learned to live with. The doctors have said she'll grow out of night terrors most likely by the age of 6. The issue that I really need to deal with now is her constant waking up crying. If she completely stays on schedule and gets to bed early every night then she's fine. But...there's times when things change, like going on vacation, etc. She wakes up about every 15 minutes just screaming for like 10 minutes until she falls back to sleep. Then she'll wake up again and do the same thing over and over throughout the night. We went on vacation over Memorial weekend and she kept everyone awake all night. This past Friday night she went on a field trip to the zoo at school then went to a birthday party after school. She was in bed by 9:00 but still cried all night. I know that no naps and overduing it is a factor too. It's just really bad and she cries all night and I just don't know what to do at this point. The doctors are no help and I don't know where else to turn. Does anyone have similar problems or have any suggestions? Thanks.
