My 2 (almost 3) year old daughter has suffered sleep problems all of her life. She's the queen of catnapping, but over the past year or so it's been much better for her. Lately, she's been shaking, kicking, sweating, and has had labored breathing BEFORE she goes to sleep. She complains that she's freezing but she's completely covered and I'm not - and I'm still burning up! Most nights I must lay with her until she falls asleep (that's a whole other story!) and when she does this, I'll say her name to see if she's coherent and she always answers pleasantly and wide awake!

She has a long history of febrile seizures, but luckily we haven't had one since March of '06. Her movements and breathing remind me very much of the seizures, except that she is completely coherent! Any ideas what may be going on? Once she's asleep her breathing goes back to normal and the sweat disappears after about an hour because I uncover her after she's out.

Any advice/info would be appreciated!!
