Posted by annoyed on March 29, 2008 at 18:54:14:Our 2 1/2 year old daughter has been easily putting herself to sleep since she was 1. We've had a couple "bumbs" in the road, but they've passed quickly. 2 weeks ago, she began not wanting to lay down to sleep. We did not change anything in her routine and have had no changes in our household. For some reason, the minute I lay her down on her pillow, she sits right up and acts like she's had a shot of sugar or that I'm laying her on pins and needles. "Can't lay down, Mommy" is what she says. (Which means "I don't want to lay down".) She is still in need of a nap, as she is exhausted by nap time. So I don't think it's a matter of not being tired. She's also started waking up in the night again...usually around the same time of night. We've let her cry and she will go 30-45 minutes without letting up...but she never does get out of bed. We really want to nip this in the bud before it gets any more out of control. Any help???
