Yes! My son is now 8. Has had 3 sleep studies since he was 5. All indicate plmd, and suspect rls. He has been on several meds that didn't help ;ie;restoril, mirapex and clonazepam in very small doses. We are now in our 3rd week of iron supplements, a solid year after trying the various meds for 6 mo. I'm praying this will make a difference. We've tried lots of alternative stuff too: acupuncture without needles and chiropractic and cranial sacral therapy. Nothing has helped. I have kept in depth logs for 3 yrs. The only triggers are being over-tired and caffeine..(a big one for my son). After MANY doctors, and now a pediatric sleep specialist (finally!!) I have come to realize it is hereditary and have sleep issues w/ most of the males on my side of the family. They say that when it is genetically predisposed it is much harder to diagnose(thus my 3 yr battle).Nothing has changed yet, but I am hopeful, and also slightly comforted to know that he is probably just wired this way, and not leading into something far worse. Hope things are better for you since this posting.
