My daughter has always been a light sleeper. But in the last year she's got to the point where she fears not going to sleep which seems to result in her...not going to sleep. It can take hours to get her to sleep now. She is a very active kid, otherwise very well behaved, and we've used books to wind down at the end of the day hoping that is a good transition. Its got to the point where she can't handle any situation outside the norm when it comes to bedtime...such as dad or mom not being there, sleepovers are an impossibility, others sleeping in her room (sister, visiting relatives, etc), camping, etc. She basically has nervous breakdowns days before just knowing that those situations may exist. This is on top of her regular, daily challenges with going to sleep.
Any success stories and tips would be helpful.
