Sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time with your
son's sleep issues. My sister had similar problems with her
daughter. First of all I would suggest that you take the tv out of
the room because although you feel it helps you sleep you are
really just continuing to stimulate his brain long after he should
already be sleeping.

Next I would add a bath in epsom salt to his nightly routine. My
sister uses Pepsom Sports from Walgreens because it has a
relaxing scent. Put 2 cups of Pepsom in a warm bath and have
him soak for 20-30 minutes. She has coupled this bath time
with either some relaxing music or a bedtime story.

The magnesium in the epsom salt will help to induce sleep and
researchers have found that soaking in a magnesium rich epsom
salt bath helps the magnesium absorb into the body. In fact the
main symptom of magnesium deficiency is insomnia.

Give the baths a try and see if it works. You should also try
soaking in pepsom since you said you have been struggling with
your own sleep issues. Hope this helps!
