I think that an xPAP device should be capable of interfacing with this type of system, and sending an alarm to an emergency dispatcher should the patient stop breathing or otherwise go into distress. the unit would sound an alarm in the room, and the patient would have the opportunity to cancel the alarm if it is somehow in error. Also, anybody present in the house would be alerted by the alarm.
