In the vast majority of hospitals, they would still need to check the PAP unit every time. Just because it was safe on the first visit, doesn't mean its safe on the next visit. We had a patient bring a unit in last month that failed the electrical leak test. Upon inspection, a "critter" of some kind had gnawed on some of the wires around the power supply.
