Posted by D. H. on January 29, 2003 at 16:35:19:Currently, pressure is measured issuing from the machine. It should be measured inside the mask. This would allow for a more uniform measurment. Any minor leaks, or variations in the exhaust ports would be adjusted for. Even (maybe especially) a plain CPAP should made these adjustments on the fly. In the case of an ordinary CPAP, it only has to deliver a constant pressure, not do any complex analysis of the patient's breathing.
