It would be nice if the Reasearch and Development department that makes the headgear had to actually wear it and the mask for a short time (one night or so). They wouldn't have to be hooked up to a machine, just the mask/headgear. I really believe if the people who invent these things had to test them, that the product would be a lot better and a lot more comfortable. They would see how uncomfortable some headgear can be, and perhaps invent a better prototype.
