YES! I have exactly the same experience with Activa mask and straps. Two nights in a row I cried in frustration into the mask and had to get up and take it off until the resultant congestion in my nose subsided! I went to the ResMed website (www.resmed.com) to see if there is an alternative. There are three listed...Standard; Large; and Shallow. The Shallow seems to be shorter than the Standard, but wider.

I have logged only 20 hours on CPAP since I got it last week, so I will give the Standard mask some more time as I work through the adjustment to the whole process. If the size continues to be a significant detriment to compliance or effectiveness, I will see if I can try the Shallow size.
