Posted by sensitivechild on March 09, 2010 at 16:41:45:My son has sleep apnea. We have had three masks. With each masks he develops sensitivity overtime(probably 2 weeks). With one mask he got a big red mark on his forehead with four large bumps and it was red across the bridge of his nose. The next two masks he developed the red marks on his forehead and across the bridge of his nose. We have purchased a cotton product and "jelly-like" product from the DME company which were meant to act as a barrier between the mask and his skin. We have tried barrier cream suggested by the Dermatologist and have seen an Allergist. He is not wearing the mask currently because once the sensitivity starts there is the concern for skin breakdown and infection. I am not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions??
