We use an expanded montage on the majority of our patients. The extra leads are to record possible epileptiform discharges. It is very unlikely that you will see a grand mal type of seizure in the sleep lab, so the cameras you have will be fine.
As far as scoring, you do what you normally do. If there is any epileptiform activity it is the physicians responsibility for the diagnosis of it.
There should be no reason to have a 1:1 ratio, unless it is a peds patient. As far as liability, there should be no more than any other patient. Hope this helps.
