In my experience the patients that I have seen with long term timmitus seem to adapt and quit noticing it. I've never had one who said it interfered with sleep. I would do the same work up and treatment for insomnia/sleep disturbanc as on a patient without tinnitus. If it is short term maybe the cause needs treating or just waite until they adapt. Probably something beside tinnitus us whats happening. JPH
