I had the same exact thing and it is really scary. Two doctors confirmed they were laryngospasms. They put me on Claritin to stop drainage down my throat and Prilosec to stop acid reflux in my stomach. The told me to reduce caffein and carbonation and increase water. Haven't had a problem since.
