Sounds like REM Behavior Disorder (RBD). What normally happens when we go into REM sleep (dreaming) are bodies become paralyzed to keep us from acting out our dreams. This is normal. It is when something happens to mechanism that paralyses the body and we do not become paralyzed as we should that problems occur. Acting out our dreams is the classic symptom. Usually these can be very dangerous for the person having them and for anyone nearby like the bed partner. There are medications to treat this disorder and you should definitely see a sleep specialist as soon as possible to take care of this problem before something serious happens. There is the possibility something else could be going on to cause this which a sleep specialist would be able to detect and treat.
