Going in January 6, 1998 for SOMNOPLASTY OPERATION (I would love to hear from someone that has had the proceedure)

Posted by Steven in NYC on December 06, 1997 at 19:59:48:

I have had so many sleep problems in the past 1-2 years! It started off by waking up and being unable to go back to sleep. I would lay there, hoping to slip into sleep, and be dreaming but awake??? I am not sure if there is a name for that. I usually feel sleepy during the day. I took some mild sleeping pills (Ambian), but they made me feel just as numb in the morning so I stopped.I know I snore very heavily( I am married, at least we still sleep in the same bed, usually) and I am not sure if I have Apnea or not.
I went to my ENT in NYC he said the proceedure is great and works most of the time to stop snoring. We tried to get insurance to pay, but no way. So since it is affecting my life and health so heavily I decided to pay for the operation myselfe( $2,000 ouch!).
The thing is I would REALLY like to hear from some people that have had SOMNOPLASTY!.....please
Thanks,
Steven
