Stay off of your back while sleeping (old sock with a tennis ball in it safety-pinned to the back of a tight fitting nightshirt). Sleep Apnea is almost always worse if you are on your back.

Appeal the denial of coverage with the help of your sleep disorders center and physician. Find and use the study in the recent issue of the professional journal SLEEP that shows a HUGE reduction in medical costs of hospitalizations and doctor visits when sleep apnea is treated. Show the insurance company that it is on their own best (re:financial) interest to grant you coverage for this disorder.
