It depends. If your AHI (apnea hypopnea index) is 66.2 per hour that is considered severe. However, other things come in to play. How long did they last, how far did your oxygen desaturate, how long were your arousals, etc. But with a number like that I would say it is severe. Usually a sleep lab will put you on CPAP while you wait to see an ENT to see if he thinks he can help. Not all people with sleep apnea are surgical candidates. If he did not I would ask for a loaner. If you can not get one try not sleeping on your back.
