baby has trouble falling asleep

Posted by Sandy on December 11, 1997 at 10:01:24:

Hi,
I know my post seems sort of trivial compared to
some of the other posts here but I don't know where
else to go.
I have read Dr. Ferber's book and want to try his
method of getting my 9 month old son to sleep but
I have a few problems with his method. My son seems
cry himself awake instead of asleep. I'm afraid he
will cry all night. My husband is too, he is not too
excited about trying this but I talked him into
trying it. The other problem I have is that when I go
in to check on him he doesn't really settle down and
when I leave he goes balistic. I have a real problem
with just letting him cry for an hour or more (which he
has done on a couple of occasions when I've tried)without
going in to check on him.
Someone please give me some ideas or direct me to
someone who can thank you
Sandy
