Dear Gene,
I was also told by my EENT that there was only a 50-60% chance of total success with the UPPP surgery, but I am willing to take that chance since I cannot use the CPAP of BiPAP machines. The other alternative is major reconstructive jaw surgery, which I am not willing to consider at this time. I have talked to him about the Dental Appliance used for the tounge falling to the back of the throat, cutting off air supply and he said that though he doesn't necessarily agree with the dental treatment, he will approve the appliance in my case.
I'm not sure if this has helped you, but it is something else to consider.
