I to am a semi professional (some would say more semi than Professional!)
and I had uppp surgery about 6 months ago. I made my surgeon aware of the fact that
It was very important to me to continue playing. although the apnea was worse when I
went back for my follow up visit my playing has not suffered at all, in fact I feel as though
the new and improved airway may be a little better. I feel as though may not be pinching as much??
I have no air leaking anywhere else so playing is not an issue. The lack of results is though!
Good luck
