Hello,
It is difficult to advice you on these issues without detailed information on such things as what type of schedule you work, staffing levels, commute times, operational issues, and off-shift lifestyle issues.
A general rule-of-thumb in adjusting back to a day schedule is to make sure that you make up for sleep lost while working the night shift. When working nights you tend to start to accumulate a "sleep debt" which shiftworkers are used to recouporating from on their days off after working nights. If people do not make up for lost sleep, this sleep debt will carry over to the following day shifts, and depending on your start time of day shift, it may actually be more difficult to work throught the day than the night shift. The workload is typically higher and more stressful as well.
Please follow-up with more info on your operation and I will try to address your questions more specifically.
Thank you,
Nick Murphy
