There is a procedure called "somnoplasty" in which a needle is in jected under the area causing the obstructive apnea. Through microwave some tissue(under the surface) is destroyed. This apparently causes the offending area to stiffen and collapse and apparently will benefit snorers and perhaps apnea sufferers. The procedure was approved by FDA for snoring and new tests are supposed to be underway for OSA...I wonder if this is different from the procedure you are involved in...? Richard
