Just in case you're still in limbo--
It sounds very much like you are suffering from OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) or upper airway resistance syndrome. As these problems can be serious threats to your health as well as being annoying, it is important that you continue to search for a solution.
Have you had a full polysomnography (overnight sleep study)?
A PSG will define fully the nature of your sleep disturbance, and point the way toward a solution. OSA can be effectively treated with CPAP, and is covered by insurance. I recommend you check it out, if you have'nt already.
