Maybe, maybe not. The Sleep Disorders Center where I work often refers cases like yours to a Certified Biofeedback Therapist for relaxation training before medicating or doing any sleep studies. A few of the patients end up getting sleep testing but most are helped enough with relaxation training that a sleep evaluation is not needed. Ask your physician if this might be appropriate for you.
