HELP!!!! - anyone experience this?

Posted by pati on December 29, 1997 at 02:12:22:

Hi there

I have two questions that I would appreciate, if possible, some help/info on.

I have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder that stems from childhood. I have always thought that sleep deprivation or lack of hours of sleep was just an individual person's "clock". Little did I know that sleeping only 3-4 hours a night could have such a profound impact on one's health. I am currently under treatment for this, but I find that meds (not sleeping pills) are just a band-aid solution and don't work. Is there any information on the effects of long term sleep deprivation?

My second question is this....before I fall asleep I experience nausea and then I make the motions of projectile vomiting without actually vomiting. It lasts for about 1/2 hour and I feel sick when I wake up in 3 or 4 hours. My Dr has never heard of this before and it happens, although not every night, quite often. It is not related to what I may or may not have eaten, or a flu bug...it has been happening for years and I find it irritating, to say the least. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Thanks for listening
