Sleep Deprivation in a Hospital

Posted by Doug on January 02, 1998 at 16:37:25:

I'm on a new kick. Having just returned from five days and nights in a hospital with a grangrenous gall bladder that was life threatening, I am angered at the lack of courteousy and lack of knowledge about the necessity of sleep to maintain and regain good health the well-trained nurses displayed. Everyone I have talked to, meaning 100%, make the same statement, "You can't get any rest or sleep in a hospital."

It seems pathetic to me and I am deciding whether or not to pursue my quest to change hospital procedures in the United States.

Give me your opinions of your experiences in a hospital and whether or not it affected your sleep patterns post-hospital, and what could have been done to improve your hospital treatment
