Vitamins & insomnia

Posted by Giles on January 05, 1998 at 14:27:52:

I've been using a Vitamin B 100 complex along with a MultiVitamin/Mineral complex for a couple of years to treat severe insomnia. (I wake up after a couple of hours sleep and remain awake for two to three hours). That, along with quitting caffeine, solved the problem. That is, until I developed an ulcer. Now, I can no longer tolerate the vitamins, and I really don't want to go back to Klonopin.
My current strategy: Trying to find the minimum effective dose (somewhere between 400 and 800 mcg of Folic acid) 400 doesn't work, and 800 gives me a hangover. Both hurt my stomach.
Anyone out there knowledgeable about vitamins and sleep? I'm getting pretty desperate.
