Sleep Deprivation

Posted by dorothy on January 06, 1998 at 10:02:13:

I need help. I have been getting about 4-5 hours
sleep each night for the past 3-4 years. On the
weekends I get 8-9 hours. In the past week or so I
have begun to experience a very strange thing. I
feel like I'm in a bubble -- sort of like I'm
watching a movie of my life or something. It's very disconcerting and scary. I stopped using aspartame completely -- I had been using that for 15 years without any trouble. NOTHING has changed in my life at all, in months. No traumas no tragedies have occurred. This seems to have come completely out of nowhere. I'm quite afraid that some sort of chemical imbalance has occurred in my brain. I'm 36 yrs. old and have always been very in tune with my body and it's needs. I know this is not a place for diagnostic replies, etc. But does anyone know if sleep dep can cause such imbalances or this type of symptom? I saw an MD yesterday and she didn't seem concerned about the sleep situation. I really need to know at least who is adept in this subject. PLEASE E-Mail peronsally or here if you can help in any way.

Thanks,

dorothy
