Dad's nighttime moaning

Posted by Tony on January 07, 1998 at 03:52:50:

I am curious to know if anyone has ANY information on a sleep problem that my Dad is having.
A few years ago my Dad began moaning in his sleep. Originally he chalked it up to stress and tried to get over it. Three year's later it's just as bad if not worse than ever. He has been to a couple of sleep clinics, but seems to have a problem relaxing enough to even fall asleep. So they put him on some pill that was supposed to be a mild form of valium, but it only seemed to make the problem worse.
I've looked up as much info as I can find on sleeep disorders and have been unable to find very much at all regarding this. I don't know if there is a clinical name for it or if it IS simply stress related. I can say that it is definitely not talking, and it's frequency and volume depend on a host of variables but it most definitely occurs often.

ANYONE with ANY knowledge or a similar problem feel free to post a reply or e-mail me directly.

Thanks!
