Sounds like something is keeping you from getting quality sleep. That period of time where you do not feel tired is a result of your circadian rhythm which makes you more alert in the late evening prior to going to bed. It does nothing to help sleepiness in the afternoon which is why you want to nap so bad during that time. But the waking up sounds like a possible sleep disorder. I would try taking one of the Sleep Test on the Sleep Links Page and see how you score.
