Can't get enough air

Posted by Barbara on January 13, 1998 at 07:54:24:

I recently (2 weeks ago) stopped smoking because I'm using the CPAP machine. I've had the machine for 2 months and it seems to help a great deal.

The problem is, when I stopped smoking I felt like I couldn't get enough air when I first put the mask on at night. It has now progressed to times during the day when I feel I have to stop what I'm doing and breathe deeply to get oxygen.

I don't think this is anxiety over the smoking because I actually feel good about stopping.

I have pulmonary hypertension and don't know if it might be getting worse. My CPAP is set to 7-1/2 right now.

Should I get it adjusted?
