sleeping noises

Posted by Mary on January 13, 1998 at 11:29:06:

It seems like my fiancee breathes in regularly but
then he holds his breath and when he exhales it's
with a loud moan or sigh. His breathing is so
irregular that I have a hard time falling asleep
next to him and if I do fall asleep his moaning
wakes me up later. Often when he's falling asleep
his limbs jerk and twitch - like he's getting an
electric shock. Is this sleep apnea? He is 32 and a very tall and thin person. He also says that he often wakes up with a dry mouth. I would appreciate knowing if anyone has any suggestions - it's driving me crazy.
