Thank you, this is the first time I have had an answer to my
question. My father understood that you could not get a
person to do something against their beliefs if you told them
but he said that if you were to change their belief one small
step at a time then gradually you would be able to get them
to do what you wanted. He was boasting when he told me this.
He was very messed up, paranoid, and a control freak. I have
suspected that he used this trick of his to get me to tell him
things that I had tried to hold back from him because he boasted
to me that he would know everything eventually. That is every
thing i had not told him. I think that it was fear of his trick
that caused some of my sleep problems, like chronic insomina and
panic attacks that occur only at night.
