Chronic Insomia going on 4 months! (HELP)

Posted by Jm Romeo on January 19, 1998 at 11:20:27:

Hi,

I have been having severe insomnia for about three months now, It sarted happening two weeks after I separated from my wife and seems to be getting worse and worse. I have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep and am always in an alert state while in bed.
I have been to my M.D. Three times now and he tells me it's depression. He also tested my Thyroid, it's o.k. He then gave my Ambiem, and Temazepan. Neither of which worked and i don't take any more.
I then got so bad I started having anxiety attacks and loss of interest in almost all daily activities. So I started seeing a Psychiatrist who has put me on Serzone about 600 mg per day which makes me feel a bit more stable mentally, but I still have the sleep problem and it is getting worse. My psychiatrist also tried remerom, lorazepam and trazadone with me but I don't like the way any of them make me feel so I have discontinued use of anything accept serzone. Does anyone have any ideas, this problem is seriously having a negative affect on my life. I am not my old self anymore and I just want to find my way back and get some rest.
