Sorry to hear about your separation. I highly recommend professional counseling. Having just gone through separation and divorce myself, I do understand. I might well have not survived the events of the last two years without a several excellent marital and personal counselors and therapists. Worth every minute of my time and every dime!

On to your sleep question. Insomnia developing at the time of personal trauma is extrodinarily common, however it shouldn't go on for 4 months. See this same topic with "haven't slept well since divorce" in this forum. Read through initial posting (1-5-98) and through the responses. There are VERY effective measures for dealing with this problem, and most of them are non-medication.
