actual affect of meds in RLS

Posted by Keith Brockmiller on January 20, 1998 at 04:26:27:

Hi guys, Im new here. Im recently dx'ed with RLS and taking 1mg of klonopin. What I would like to know is, are the medications supposed to stop the leg movements, or just help you sleep better? At first, I found I was sleeping all night, but all the sheets were still at the bottom of the bed. Now I dont seem to get any benefit at all, except that I get to sleep easier. Which never really was a problem. My problem is staying asleep. I saw a sleep Psychologist who made the dx, then turned me over to my m.d. How do they measure effectiveness? more sleep studies? That was my worst night sleep ever.
Please respond by email, as I dont get here to often.

thnx
Keith
